... been thinkin' about a lot of the old 'Terrytoons' lately, and was
itchin' to do some send-ups of Mighty Mouse. Well, they started a
great thread over at the 'Drawing Board,' and that got me motivated...
These are -"WHY are you showing people these?!"- rough!!!
But, it's nice to loosen up a bit during my lunch break, stretch out those
ol' fingies and draw straight-ahead, stream-o-conscience, no erasin,'
no deleting! :)

arcades RULED!

So inspired by all of the video-game-driven art I'm seeing lately... :)
I was thinking about how much I LOVED arcades when I was a kid...Those dark, smokey spots where all you saw were blinking lights and your ears were filled with the various 'bleeps' and 'zaps' from your favorite video-game machines... Those were the DAYS!!! Seems like the arcade is becoming a thing of the past... that's a shame! :(
I'm sure I'll be sketching arcade-themed stuff all week... I'm obsessed! :)

...Truth is, I was checking out Gabe Swarr's work, again... he's
done some really super 'Link' and 'Mario' artwork, and he downright
inspired me!
There's such a sense of joy and fun in his work... If I ever meet the guy, I'll tell him
he's one of the great ones! :)
Anyway, I was pretty obsessed with Link as a kid, and I thought it would be fun to draw
him, then PIXELATE him!

-- A-Rod goes yard 50 times, 130 RBI's and even steals 25!! (Come ON Joe, run the guy!)
(and, oh yeah, commits only 4 errors ALL YEAR at 3rd)
--Toronto BlueJays fail to live up to new expectations and implode by July
--Twins fall out of contention pretty early (tough division!) and Yanks begin to eyeball Tori Hunter for Center (over to Right you go, Johnny!) ...oh, Sheff, fulltime DH for you, sir!
--Francisco Rodriguez saves 45!!! (that guy is DYNAMITE!)
--Ryan Howard belts 55-60 homers this year!
--Dontrelle AND Cabrera do NOT finish the year in Miami (poor Girardi!)
--Pujols is Pujols (that guy is unreal...TOO good)
--Mussina FINALLY gets his 'no-hitter'
--Javier Vazquez gets 18-20 wins in Chicago (WHY couldn't you do it in the Bronx, Javier!?)
--all-out chaos between RedSox and Tampa as tempers boil-over... what ever HAPPENED to
incite THAT very strange rivalry, anyway?
--Junior has an amazing, mostly injury-free year... finally! that guy DESERVES it!
